Location:
New York City Metropolitan Area
We are seeking multiple Embedded Engineers to play key roles in the development and optimization of firmware for advanced computing, encryption, authentication, and networking products. Working closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software developers, and applied physicists, you will design and implement embedded Linux solutions for real-time system control, data processing, and precision timing/synchronization within advanced hardware platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop production-grade code in C/C++/Python
- Debug and maintain embedded Linux firmware for ARM-based custom hardware
- Develop system-level and low-level firmware to support custom ASICs and hardware modules
- Adapt firmware to evolving system requirements and product functionality
- Support hardware/software integration and debugging
- Develop automated test scripts to verify functionality of applications and modules
- Maintain software engineering processes and development environments
- Utilize bug tracking tools such as Jira
- Proficiency in shell scripting
- 5+ years of industry experience as an embedded software developer
- 5+ years of experience programming in C/C++
- 5+ years of experience with Xilinx Vitis, Peta Linux, or similar embedded tool chains preferred
- Strong understanding of processor architecture and embedded Linux system requirements
- Experience with Linux driver architecture, particularly SPI, I2C, and DMA
- Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira) preferred
- Familiarity with code repositories such as Git Hub preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to contribute in a team environment
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced professional setting
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field required
- Experience or exposure to FPGA development
- Strong math and physics foundation
- Experience or exposure to hardware security solutions
- Experience using hardware test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, vector analyzer, etc.)
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
