Software Engineer, Backend Developer, Cloud Engineer - Software

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to design, build, and maintain a proprietary internal platform that will serve as a secure, client-facing portal for managing customer communications. This platform will be built from the ground up using Open SQL and modern development technologies, with a strong emphasis on data security, HIPAA compliance, and user experience.

In this role, you will play a critical part in architecting and implementing a mission‑critical system that enhances client engagement while meeting the highest standards for healthcare data protection.

• Design, develop, and implement a secure customer portal using Open SQL and related technologies
• Lead and contribute to platform architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security
• Build and maintain secure database structures to manage sensitive medical and patient data in compliance with HIPAA
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers to deliver an intuitive and user‑friendly client experience
• Partner with security, compliance, and project management teams to ensure adherence to privacy and security best practices
• Develop APIs and integration layers to support interoperability with internal and external systems
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, database schemas, and security protocols
• Perform code reviews, testing, and vulnerability assessments to maintain platform integrity
• Support deployment, debugging, and ongoing enhancements to the platform

• 5+ years of professional experience in software or web development
• Strong proficiency in Open SQL and database development
• Deep understanding of data security principles, encryption, and access control
• Experience working with HIPAA‑compliant systems or handling PHI (Protected Health Information)
• Proficiency in backend development using Python, Java, or C#
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams
