About the CompanyA founder-led startup building the infrastructure layer powering modern ticket resale markets. Operating at the intersection of real-time pricing, liquidity, and live event data, the team is rethinking how tickets are valued and traded across sports and entertainment ecosystems.
Recently integrated with a major primary ticketing platform, the business is scaling rapidly, already processing significant weekly transaction volume and expanding aggressively across MLB, NHL, concerts, and emerging live‑event categories.
This is not a traditional SaaS company. It’s a real‑time market engine where pricing, risk, liquidity, and data infrastructure directly impact revenue every minute of the day.
The OpportunityThe team is looking for a strong backend engineer to help scale the systems powering pricing, bidding, and market‑making infrastructure across live event inventory.
You’ll work directly with highly technical founders in a fast‑moving environment where engineering, product, and data science operate as one team. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys building pragmatic systems, solving messy real‑world problems, and shipping quickly in an environment with minimal process and high ownership.
You’ll help improve live data ingestion pipelines, product ionize pricing and forecasting models, and evolve infrastructure as transaction volume and complexity continue to scale.
This is a rare opportunity to work on highly dynamic, market‑driven systems with immediate business impact.
What You’ll Do- Build and scale backend systems powering real‑time pricing and bidding infrastructure
- Own and improve live data ingestion pipelines and feed reliability
- Work closely with data scientists to product ionize and maintain ML‑driven pricing models
- Improve architecture and operational reliability as transaction volume scales
- Support integrations with ticketing and marketplace platforms
- Develop systems that incorporate real‑time market signals, venue/stadium dynamics, weather data, and event‑level conditions
- Debug production issues quickly and make pragmatic engineering tradeoffs
- Contribute to infrastructure supporting liquidity management and exposure monitoring
- Help evolve internal tooling and workflows for a rapidly growing engineering organization
- Strong backend engineering experience, ideally using Python
- Experience building data‑intensive systems, pipelines, or event‑driven infrastructure
- Comfort working in early‑stage, ambiguous environments with high ownership
- Ability to move quickly while maintaining sound engineering judgment
- Experience debugging distributed or real‑time systems in production
- Familiarity with data processing frameworks such as Pandas and Spark
- Strong problem‑solving ability and willingness to develop domain expertise
- Bonus: experience with AI‑assisted development workflows or ML infrastructure
- Python
- Spark
- Market/pricing algorithms
- Event and venue data systems
- Cloud infrastructure and backend services
- Build infrastructure directly tied to company revenue and market performance
- Tight feedback loop between engineering decisions and business outcomes
- Work alongside deeply technical founders with high standards and strong product instincts
- Solve complex real‑world modeling and systems problems at the intersection of data, pricing, and live markets
- Join at a pivotal growth stage with significant upside potential
- Shape the architecture and engineering culture from the ground floor
- Work on technically interesting challenges involving liquidity, forecasting, risk, and real‑time market behavior
- Be part of a small, highly autonomous team where your impact is visible immediately
