Software Engineer - Data Cloud

About the Role

The Data Cloud team is building an end-to-end analytics and business intelligence system that replaces customers' need for data lakes, warehouses, and pipelines. The system ingests, transforms, tracks lineage, catalogs, and visualizes data, and will also leverage ML and LLMs to provide automated insights and conversational experiences.

• Develop high-quality software with attention to detail using tech stacks such as Python, Apache Trino, Iceberg, and Temporal.
• Create data visualization and query-processing products used at large scale.
• Build data platforms, data lakes, and ingestion systems that scale.
• Own one or many products, APIs, or platform spaces.
• Grow engineering skills across challenging areas and solve hard technical problems.
• Influence company-wide architecture, technology selections, and trends.

• 8+ years of software development experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals, architectures, and design patterns.
• Proven track record building large-scale applications, APIs, and developer tools.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Passionate about making a product-focused impact on customer experience.
• Bonus Points: contributions to open-source projects such as Apache Iceberg, Parquet, Spark, Hive, Flink, Delta Lake, Presto, Trino, or Avro.

The pay range for this role is: $180,000 - $315,000 USD per year (US Tier
1). Competitive salary, benefits, and equity. Salary is aligned with location; final offers may vary based on experience.
