About the HR Product Team

The HR Product Engineering team is the foundational layer of Rippling’s unified workforce management system. Our mission is to build seamless, global, and compliant systems that power the entire employee lifecycle, from hire to retire.

We operate at the intersection of HR, compliance, and enterprise software. Our products manage the most sensitive aspects of a company’s relationship with its people, requiring us to solve complex problems related to scale, data security, and multi‑product integration.

What we build

The team is organized around four core domains:

  • HRIS (Human Resources Information System): Building the core employee record, organizational structure, and workflows that serve as the single source of truth for all other Rippling products.
  • Time: Developing accurate, scalable, and globally compliant Time & Attendance systems, including clocking, time‑off accrual, and scheduling.
  • Benefits: Creating and maintaining marketplace and administration tools for health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
  • Talent: Designing products that manage employee growth, performance, and learning.
What you will do
  • Design, implement, and test reliable backend services and APIs that power core product features and business logic at scale.
  • Work across key technical domains, including API design, data modeling, event modeling, and service performance optimization.
  • Own the development lifecycle for defined features, from implementation and testing to deployment, monitoring, and production support.
  • Effectively integrate into cross‑functional teams, contribute to technical discovery, and learn rapidly from code and system feedback.
What you will need
  • 2+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer, preferably with Python, Go, or a similar production language, and strong experience with relational databases such as Postgre

    SQL.
  • Strong focus on business impact, balancing technical craft with speed and the bottom line to deliver value quickly.
  • Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, dynamic environments, demonstrating resilience and agility when product needs change.
  • Excellent skills in communicating complex technical ideas with clarity to enable effective collaboration with peers and stakeholders.

This role will receive a competitive salary, benefits, and equity. The salary for US‑based employees will be aligned with one of the ranges below based on location. Final offer amounts may vary.

Salary Information

Pay range: $152,000 – $225,000 USD per year (US Tier 1).
