• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development.
• 7 years of experience leading technical project strategy, ML design, and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
• 2 years of experience with GenAI techniques (e.g., LLMs, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) or with GenAI-related concepts (language modeling, computer vision).

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

The Core Engineering Education team will transform how Googlers build by embedding AI into our curriculum and delivering training directly into work. We’ll lean on the strong collaboration with hero early adopters to upskill all our talent for Google’s next era of innovation.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will provide technical leadership for major projects, manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and develop your team of engineers. You will ensure your team can optimize their code while operating with scale and speed across technical areas. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure se are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer.
