Software Development Engineer, ML Systems, Annapurna Labs

We are part of Amazon Annapurna Labs, building software for AWS ML chips such as Neuron, Inferentia, and Trainium. The role focuses on designing AI agents to simplify adoption of these chips.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve complex technical problems across the stack.
• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions for performance, durability, cost, and security.
• Build high‑quality, highly available, always‑on products.
• Research and implement solutions to deliver the best customer experiences.
• Create metrics, automation, and root‑cause analysis of defects.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Drive business decisions and contribute to strategic product roadmaps.

• Work in a startup‑like environment, prioritize high‑impact tasks.
• Collaborate closely with compiler, hardware, and ML engineering teams.
• Code, review, and integrate solutions continuously.

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Hands‑on experience in generative AI or machine learning environments.
• 1+ year of experience building and optimizing models for diverse hardware platforms.

Competitive base salary range $129,300 – $223,600 per year, plus equity and additional compensation. Total compensation includes health, financial, and other benefits. Salary depends on market location and experience.
