As a Senior Frontend Engineer and Tech Lead on the Optimization Consoles team, you’ll own customer‑facing products used by thousands of AWS customers to save millions on their cloud spend—pioneering Gen AI‑powered experiences that are redefining how users interact with complex data.

We’re looking for a passionate frontend leader to drive development across our suite of cost optimization products—including Compute Optimizer, Cost Optimization Hub, and Optimization Widget. You’ll shape the technical direction of high‑impact consoles, mentor engineers, and bridge the gap between UX, Product, and Backend teams to deliver world‑class experiences.

• Lead frontend architecture and development across 3+ external customer‑facing consoles and internal tools
• Drive Gen AI initiatives integrating Amazon Q and LLM‑powered dynamic UI generation
• Own technical strategy including React/Type Script modernization, performance optimization, and testing frameworks
• Serve as a strategic bridge between UX, Product Management, and Backend engineering teams
• Mentor and grow engineers while influencing org‑wide technical standards
• Deliver high‑visibility launches that directly impact AWS customers’ cloud spending decisions
• Architect and implement Gen AI‑powered features, including Amazon Q integration and LLM‑driven dynamic UI component generation
• Deliver measurable performance improvements across consoles (page load speed, rendering time, code efficiency) while maintaining high quality bar with zero‑defect launches
• Author technical design documents, implementation guides, and architectural standards that elevate org‑wide engineering practices
• Manage cross‑service integrations across AWS partitions (standard, China, Gov Cloud, and isolated regions) using CDK infrastructure
• Lead high‑visibility product launches (including re:
  
  Invent‑scale deliverables) by coordinating across multiple stakeholder teams
• Continuously improve developer experience through tooling, automation, and establishing reusable component libraries and testing patterns

• Knowledge of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and REST
• Experience in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns
• Proven experience leading frontend engineering teams and mentoring engineers
• Strong background in React/Type Script, performance optimization, and modern testing frameworks
• Experience with AI/ML integration in frontend applications (preferred)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across product, UX, and backend stakeholders
