We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer with expertise in Elasticsearch and Solr/Lucidworks Fusion to design, deploy, optimize, and maintain our enterprise search and data analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in search engine architectures, data ingestion, and content management systems, ensuring our search solutions are scalable, reliable, and performant to support business‑critical applications.
What you’ll do in the role:Lucidworks Fusion Administration & Customization
- Deploy and administer Lucidworks Fusion instances across various environments.
- Develop, configure, and maintain search pipelines, connectors, and indexing jobs.
- Create custom search interfaces, connectors, and components to meet enterprise requirements.
- Optimize Fusion search performance through tuning and caching strategies.
- Manage user access, permissions, and authentication integrations.
- Implement security best practices, privacy policies, and compliance standards.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Elasticsearch clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Develop and enforce best practices for data indexing, sharding, replication, and data lifecycle management.
- Monitor cluster health, perform capacity planning, and optimize search and query performance.
- Manage Elasticsearch security features, including role‑based access control (RBAC), encryption, and audit logging.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cluster issues, including node failures, data corruption, or network partitions.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Application teams to support data flow and indexing processes.
- Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and timeliness in search indexes.
- 5+ years of experience working with Elasticsearch and Lucidworks Fusion.
- Hands‑on experience with deploying, scaling, and tuning Elasticsearch clusters.
- Proven experience with Fusion platform administration, customization, and development.
- Strong understanding of search engine architecture, information retrieval, and relevance tuning.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long‑term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
