Your Role

This role will involve both business analysis and project management aspects, collaborating with multiple Front Office and Technology teams to address business problems and identify Technology solutions. You will be a key contributor to ongoing critical Front Office Technology solutions and play a vital role in the Investment Technology delivery of our Strategic Imperatives. You will work collaboratively and directly with other engineering teams and analysts to build robust, high-quality systems using modern software engineering techniques.

The ideal candidate is always seeking to understand not just the ‘what’ of an issue, but also the ‘why’, and can articulate the optionality around potential solutions clearly to colleagues and partners. You should be as comfortable speaking with Investment Professionals about the innovations they seek as with Technology colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consulting with Business Partners in the Front Office to solicit in-depth requirements that contribute to the design, build and implementation of solutions and enhancements
  • Partnering with other Investment related teams – e.g. Capital Markets, Investment Compliance, Investment Services – as well as external vendors in the execution of project delivery
  • Playing an implementation role in the development roadmap of new and existing tools and continuously refining and improving the level of capabilities delivered
  • Developing subject matter expertise in the core business processes under review to propose the most optimal solutions
  • Challenging yourself and our business partners to think to the future, asking whether things can be done differently
  • Project managing certain initiatives, including the provision of delivery status updates and the management of risks and issues
  • Providing consultative assistance to the Engineering Run/Support teams on an ad‑hoc basis
  • Actively participating in Agile squad ceremonies, working with the Scrum Master and Product Owners to ensure backlog prioritization is correctly focused
Qualifications
  • Ideally 5+ years experience in Asset Management, or Investment Banking as an alternative
  • Exposure to equity, fixed income and derivative instruments
  • Good understanding of the function of Order Management Systems, preferably with Charles River or a comparable platform
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficient at engaging with partners and colleagues to understand and effectively document problem statements
  • Able to understand a problem end to end, challenging the continuation of legacy processes when appropriate
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort compiling and delivering presentations and solution design documents
  • Familiar with Agile practices and methodologies
  • Comfortable partnering with partner BA’s and Engineers to derive suitable solutions for business problems
  • Passionate about technologies, continually learning and refining your craft; appetite for taking on challenges and using new technologies
  • Possess strong SQL skills around database interrogation together with an understanding of Oracle PL/SQL
