Lead development and implementation of analytics tools and APIs for quants and portfolio managers. Provide technical leadership while remaining hands‑on.

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable frontend applications, high‑performance backend services, and APIs.
• Translate quantitative and portfolio manager requirements into robust technical designs and delivery plans.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, quants, and portfolio managers to define scope, priorities, and solutions.
• Own production delivery, system reliability, and incident response.
• Lead by example through hands‑on development and technical decision‑making.
• Mentor and support peers, contributing to engineering best practices and a strong development culture.

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production‑grade systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python, with extensive hands‑on experience using Pandas and SQL in production environments.
• Solid experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Proven experience building and operating distributed systems or large‑scale data processing platforms.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Results‑oriented mindset with the flexibility to take on multiple responsibilities and deliver under time pressure.
• Direct experience working with quantitative teams or strong familiarity with quantitative workflows.

• Frontend development experience, including JavaScript and modern UI frameworks.
• Additional depth in large‑scale distributed architectures and performance‑critical systems.
• Broader experience across cloud services and infrastructure tooling beyond core AWS usage.

Salary Range: $ - $

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
