About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to serve as the primary owner of our external development team relationship. You will be responsible for the quality, velocity, and reliability of everything that team ships — from task scoping through production deployment. This is a hands‑on leadership role that sits at the intersection of engineering management, quality assurance, and release operations.
We run live events, so some evenings, weekends, and travel are part of the package.
- Own the day‑to‑day management of an external software development team, including task assignment, progress tracking, and delivery accountability
- Review, test, and approve work items, pull requests, and deliverables to ensure they meet quality, documentation, and testing standards before acceptance
- Establish and enforce standards around AI coding, unit testing, integration, cybersecurity, and documentation
- Deploy new code into the company’s cloud infrastructure, working with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and low‑risk releases
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to translate business requirements into well‑scoped technical tasks for the vendor team
- Track and report on delivery and quality metrics
- Staff in‑person or remotely periodic live events to launch and monitor projects
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering, technical product or project management, or engineering management
- Own the full lifecycle of new product ideas from concept through architecture, development, and deployment
- Act as the technical and product authority over an external development partner
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC); AI‑assisted coding experience a plus
- Comfortable reading and reviewing code across at least one of:
Ruby, Python, Node.js - Experience deploying code to cloud environments; familiarity with basic deployment tooling (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, etc.)
- Prior experience managing external vendors or distributed development teams strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication — the bridge between business stakeholders and technical executors
- Ability to cover periodic live events in‑person or remotely
- Experience in television / sports
- Experience in live events — startup experience or other role wearing many hats
- Hiring Rate Minimum: $80,250 annually (minimum will not fall below the applicable State/local minimum salary thresholds)
- Hiring Rate Maximum: $107,000 annually
- The company strives to provide locally competitive rewards packages, which include base rate along with, as applicable, short‑ and long‑term incentives, growth and developmental opportunities, and robust benefits such as health care, retirement, vacation and other paid time off, and additional offerings.
