• Deliver scalable backend services in Scala/Java
• Improve reliability, performance, and operational readiness
• Strengthen API design, data contracts, and integration patterns

• Contribute to team enablement and knowledge sharing

• Deliver scalable backend services (Scala/Java): build and maintain services, APIs, and libraries, translate product requirements, own features end‑to‑end.
• Improve reliability, performance, and operational readiness: diagnose and resolve production issues, implement performance improvements, add guardrails.
• Strengthen API design, data contracts, and integration patterns: design versioned APIs, partner with dependent teams, contribute to event‑driven integration.
• Elevate code quality through testing and engineering standards: maintain testing framework, refactor for maintainability, contribute to shared standards.
• Support secure development and risk reduction: apply secure engineering practices, collaborate with security teams, meet governance expectations.
• Contribute to team enablement and knowledge sharing: mentor junior engineers, document systems, share best practices, participate in planning.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including backend/service development.
• Strong expertise in Scala and/or Java in production environments.
• Experience with cloud-based or distributed systems (AWS/GCP/Azure), observability, and incident response.
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
• Proficiency with CI/CD, Git, code reviews, automated testing, and observability practices.
• Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, containerization, performance testing, or ad‑tech is a plus.

• Hands‑on expertise in Scala and/or Java.
• Experience building backend systems in a production setting.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals (concurrency, consistency, resiliency patterns).
• Proficiency with CI/CD and modern engineering workflows.
• Experience with observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Ability to collaborate across Product, QA, and infrastructure teams.

• Experience with microservices and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience with containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes) and IaC concepts.
• Experience with performance/load testing and capacity planning.
• Prior experience in ad‑tech, consumer apps, experimentation platforms, or high‑volume transactional systems.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $200,000. Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, and location.
