Job SummaryWe’re seeking a Senior Manager of software engineering who will lead our Mobile App Foundation teams responsible for the foundational components, libraries, and frameworks that power our Disney+ and Hulu mobile applications.
Responsibilities- Manage mobile development teams, provide guidance, direction, and career development to team members.
- Accountable outcomes across teams.
- Responsible for Disney+ and Hulu mobile application development and releases.
- Oversee code development in Kotlin, Swift and other application development technologies.
- Oversee team planning and project management, ensuring projects align with team goals and organizational timelines.
- Collaborate across disciplines with UX designers, product managers, and engineering leadership to build best‑of‑class, performant streaming experience and platform.
- Develop departmental vision and strategy.
- Foster trust, set goals, offer guidance, and provide constructive feedback across peers and stakeholders.
- 10+ years of experience in mobile application development with expert knowledge of Swift, Kotlin, and Apple/Android Frameworks and ecosystems.
- 4+ years of technical and engineering leadership experience, including leading multiple teams and delegating responsibility while balancing competing priorities.
- Experience partnering with stakeholders in Product and Design to curate a roadmap that meets the needs of the business while ensuring the ongoing health of your teams.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills; able to discuss technical topics clearly and engage in productive technical discussions.
- High emotional intelligence, experience maintaining composure under high‑pressure situations and meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong project management skills, seeing projects through from inception to completion.
- Bachelor’s degree or better in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent job experience.
The hiring range for this position in San Francisco is $206,400–$276,700 and New York City is $197,400–$264,700. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
