The GCI organization is dedicated to three business‑critical areas at Disney that will help transform its media business. We build innovative, cutting‑edge capabilities to drive subscriptions, engagement, and monetization across Disney's streaming and digital products. We enable the wide range of Disney brands to connect and engage with consumers through a unified identity, powered by shared services that are trustworthy and seamless to integrate with.
The Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology (DEE&T) Growth, Commerce and Identity Client Engineering organization delivers experiences across Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+ built on a common platform and shared technology.
- Develop software & infrastructure that powers the and commerce experience, including signup, account and subscription management.
- Contribute to code reviews, knowledge‑sharing, and technical investigations.
- Collaborate with Senior and Lead Engineers to build features on Disney+, Hulu and Star+.
- Partner with UX to transform mock‑ups into engaging, accessible web experiences.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience developing large, well‑tested JavaScript applications.
- Solid understanding of web technologies and the browser environment.
- Excellent front‑end debugging skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- BS degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- Experience shipping a production React/Node.js application.
- Experience with developing applications in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS).
- Experience working with Agile methodologies.
- Working knowledge of web accessibility fundamentals.
- Experience with Typescript.
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $114,900 to $154,100 per year and in Santa Monica, CA is $120,300 to $161,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
