Senior Backend Engineer - Integrations

Job Description

Vitally is growing, and our platform is growing too! We are looking for a Sr. Backend Engineer for our Core group to help the platform grow as we acquire more customers. This role will be focusing on advancing and creating new integrations.

• You are an exceptional engineer with excellent problem-solving skills
• You have a solid understanding of relational databases (we use Postgres) and can write performant queries and optimize indexes
• You have a deep understanding of architectural patterns of high-scalability distributed systems
• You have extensive experience with multiple software systems design tools and languages
• You have experience evaluating forms and processes for software systems testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
• You have managed, migrated, and deployed AWS infrastructure for a highly performant and scalable app
• You have improved deployment processes to be repeatable and predictable

• Have experience with Node and Typescript
• Have worn the SRE hat in the past and been obsessed with sharing that knowledge with others
• Have experience configuring and securing AWS environments

• Work on our automation redesign, adding features like branching, real-time triggers, and new actions
• Work on scaling our architecture to handle a rapidly growing customer base
• Debug and optimize slow API endpoints
• Help design our framework for building integrations
• Work with the product team to build new features for our customers

• Salary: We offer a competitive salary given both your experience as well as location here in NYC (although remote is also totally fine). The comp band for all engineering roles starts at $180,000 and increases based on the skill and seniority of the candidate.
