Python Developer

Overview

We represent an Investment Management firm with offices in NYC that needs to hire a Senior Software Engineer.

• Play a crucial role in enhancing and supporting Operations and Back office infrastructure processes.
• Own and maintain the Python codebase, SQL databases, and data integrations with Charles River (order management system), Geneva (portfolio accounting system), and proprietary systems for workflow management and performance reporting.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced financial environment, applying strong technical skills and critical thinking.

• 3 days a week on-site in midtown Manhattan (potentially moving towards
  4).
• Compensation includes a competitive base salary + annual bonus up to 30% + medical insurance (80% paid) + dental (50% paid) + unlimited PTO + 401(k) Vanguard plan with a 3.5% match up to 6%.

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Python software development.
• Knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases.
• Firm understanding of version control, testing and software development best practices.
• Possess an understanding of API integrations and data exchange protocols.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity with development across both Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with automation and scheduling tools and frameworks.
• Possess an understanding of financial markets and trading concepts.
• Desire to build robust, scalable solutions rather than implement quick fixes.
