Software Engineer - Java

You will report to the Product Engineering Team Lead working hybrid-onsite through our New York City headquarters.

• Checkouts + Payments:
  This team redesigns how customers subscribe to Squarespace - from choosing the right plan to checking out with their preferred payment method, focusing on creating flexible & transparent purchasing experiences.

Write server-side code, create high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly.

Collaborate with other engineers and designers to provide intuitive customer-focused experiences.

Ensure the reliability of systems essential to Squarespace users and businesses powered by Squarespace.

• 4+ years of development experience in Java, Python, Go or another Object-oriented language.
• Experience developing large-scale software.
• A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices.
• A sincere commitment to creating readable code and an understanding of database schema design, caching and scalability.
• A degree in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience.

Cash Compensation Range: $110,500 - $178,250 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors. In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
