Software Engineer - Delivery Platform

Uber Delivery (Eats, Grocery, Retail) is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build scalable backend systems that power feeds, storefronts, and discovery experiences. You’ll work with large-scale data systems and apply Generative AI to personalize and transform how customers find products in Uber’s growing global catalog.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and innovative software solutions.
• Identify opportunities and lead the entire development lifecycle end-to-end, from architecture design and coding to testing and deployment.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback to maintain high code quality and elevate coding standards.
• Help the team understand what is important and what problems to focus on, identify solutions to ambiguous problems and reason through tradeoffs.
• Communicate with internal clients, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, with 5+ years of full-time engineering experience.
• Experience in hands‑on software development with a focus on scale, latency, and distributed architecture.
• Highly efficient coding in Golang, Java, or any similar languages.
• Solid experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, Postgre
  
  SQL, or similar in high concurrency environments.
• Working experience with Flink, Spark, and/or Kafka.

• Solid systems design experience on high-availability and low-latency environments.
• Proven experience of shipping high‑quality internal platforms.
• Solid experience working with non‑relational databases such as Cassandra, Mongo
  
  DB, or similar in high concurrency environments.
• A great teammate and owner—willing to take on ownership of the systems, and think about operations, maintenance, and reliability.
• Proven experience working with online food delivery systems and/or e‑commerce platforms is a plus.
