As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll become the technical owner of a business‑critical platform area, partnering directly with research teams to design and build the infrastructure that powers next‑generation AI research, experimentation, and production systems.
What You’ll Do- Design and build scalable distributed systems supporting frontier AI research and investment workflows.
- Develop trusted data platforms that manage complex, unstructured, and human‑generated datasets while preserving provenance, traceability, and context.
- Partner closely with Research Scientists to product ionize novel research ideas and experimental workflows.
- Own critical infrastructure spanning data ingestion, orchestration, storage, lineage, monitoring, observability, and quality assurance.
- Architect resilient systems that improve research velocity, reliability, and operational trust.
- Modernize existing platform capabilities while driving greenfield infrastructure initiatives.
- Establish engineering best practices around data correctness, schema design, governance, and platform scalability.
- Act as a highly embedded engineering partner within a fast‑moving research environment.
- 8+ years of experience building large‑scale software systems, data platforms, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with deep hands‑on Python development experience.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, schemas, lineage, observability, quality control, and platform architecture.
- Experience working with complex, messy, or human‑generated datasets where context and correctness matter.
- Track record of operating in high‑performance engineering organizations with rigorous technical standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with researchers, ML practitioners, and cross‑functional technical teams.
- Comfort owning ambiguous problem spaces and defining long‑term technical direction.
- Experience in ML infrastructure, experimentation platforms, AI systems, or research tooling.
- Background in financial technology, marketplaces, scientific computing, or large‑scale data‑intensive environments.
