Software Engineer, Unix​/Linux, Backend Developer

A leading global technology-driven trading firm is seeking Software Engineers to join a highly regarded engineering team responsible for building and maintaining the critical infrastructure that powers a large-scale, real-time trading environment.

This is an opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges across ultra-low-latency systems, distributed computing, large-scale data processing, performance optimisation, and highly resilient software platforms. Engineers in this team focus on the foundational technology that enables the broader business to innovate at speed.

As part of this high-performance engineering team, you will:

• Design, build and maintain critical infrastructure and platform components used across the organisation.
• Develop high-performance systems operating under demanding reliability and latency requirements.
• Partner closely with engineering and business teams to solve complex technical problems.
• Build elegant, scalable solutions within a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
• Drive improvements across software performance, scalability and productivity.
• Help set technical direction of critical projects.

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.
• Strong computer science fundamentals across algorithms and data structures, memory management, concurrency and multithreading, CPU architecture and operating systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Linux, or a demonstrated ability to quickly become productive in these technologies.
• Passion for writing clean, maintainable and efficient code.
