Job Summary

Free Wheel, a Comcast company, provides comprehensive ad platforms for publishers, advertisers, and media buyers. Free Wheel is looking for a C++ Engineer to help design, build and support our high‑quality, innovative video advertising platform on the Streaming Hub Team.

• Abundant experience with C/C++, database design, network programming, and large system software design and development.
• Experience with distributed systems and mission‑critical systems;
  Golang experience is a plus.
• Strong project‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and align engineering efforts with business objectives.
• Advertising industry experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated expertise in problem‑solving and technical innovation.
• Passion for learning/practicing new techniques.
• Work closely with global teams, including willingness to adjust work hours to collaborate internationally.
• Lead the development and implementation of innovative software and web applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user requirements.
• Integrate new systems seamlessly with existing infrastructure, focusing on scalability, security, and continuous performance improvement.
• Mentor team members and provide technical training, fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge sharing and professional growth.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful application integration and advocate for best practices in software development.
• Participate in or lead peer programming sessions, design sprints, or prototyping sessions.
• Drive the creation, maintenance, and accessibility of comprehensive documentation for all development activities.
• Monitor application performance metrics rigorously, utilizing data to guide enhancements and ensure delivery aligns with project goals.
• Provide expert technical advice and support to internal stakeholders and external partners, effectively communicating complex concepts.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to confirm applications meet rigorous testing standards and fulfill technical requirements.
• Exhibit consistent and punctual attendance; be available for nights, weekends, and variable schedules as necessary.

• Produce technical specifications and determine operational feasibility.
• Write well‑designed, testable, efficient code.
• Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
• Document and maintain software functionality.
• Tailor and deploy engineering tools, processes, and metrics.
• Support overall business and technically solve issues.

• Collaborate with Product Managers to build capabilities for business needs and ensure technical specifications align with operational feasibility.
• Lead and mentor a group of software engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Partner with global engineering, product, and operations teams to incorporate collective innovations.

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in C++ with extensive experience in large‑scale, mission‑critical system development.
• Strong background in distributed systems and network programming.
• Experience with database design and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of Golang is a plus.
• Excellent communication, project‑management, and collaboration skills.
