About the job
This role is being recruited by Coffee Space on behalf of an anonymous seed-stage AI data infrastructure startup building autonomous AI agents for enterprise data teams.

Location: New York, NY / hybrid, with availability for onsite client engagements
Compensation: $160k–$200k base + competitive equity
Employment type: Full-time
Visa: U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, or candidates with unrestricted / independently managed EADs only
About the companyThis company builds autonomous AI Data Agents that handle complete data engineering workflows, from discovery through deployment.
The team is led by experienced data infrastructure operators who helped scale a category-defining enterprise data company from the early days through IPO. Their engineering leadership also brings deep enterprise and financial services infrastructure experience.
The company is already working with enterprise customers including hedge funds and Fortune 500 companies, helping data teams move faster across complex environments like Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, dbt, Airflow, Docker, Python, and SQL.
The team is around 20 people today and growing quickly.
About the roleYou’ll be the bridge between the company’s product and the messy reality of enterprise data environments.
This is not a traditional support role. You’ll embed directly with high-value customers, deploy the platform in production, design workflow blueprints, configure integrations, unblock adoption, and feed what you learn directly back into the core engineering team.
You’ll operate with the autonomy of an early engineer, but your context is the customer’s infrastructure.
What You’ll Do- Own end-to‑end deployments at enterprise accounts, including configuration, integrations, workflow design, and getting customers to value quickly
- Work across modern data stacks including Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Docker, Python, APIs, dbt, Airflow, and CI/CD systems
- Debug technical issues in real time during client engagements and partner with core engineering on root causes and product improvements
- Translate field learnings into concrete product feedback, prototypes, blueprint patterns, and engineering tickets
- Support sales with technical demos and proof‑of‑concepts tailored to each prospect’s data environment
- Become the trusted technical point of contact for enterprise customers deploying autonomous agents inside critical infrastructure
- You’ll join a seed‑stage AI infrastructure company with real enterprise traction and strong technical founder‑market fit
- You’ll work on a genuinely technical product in the data engineering and AI agents space, not a shallow workflow wrapper
- You’ll have direct influence on what gets built, because your customer deployments will generate the sharpest signal for product and engineering
- You’ll work with serious enterprise customers, including hedge funds and Fortune 500 companies, on production data environments where the work actually matters
- You’ll get the autonomy of an early engineering role with the customer‑facing scope of a forward deployed engineer
- 5+ years of experience in a deeply technical, client‑facing role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar
- Strong experience in the data domain, ideally across tools like Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, AWS, Docker, Python, SQL, and modern data orchestration systems
- Comfortable deploying, debugging, and integrating software in complex customer environments
- Familiarity with LLM‑powered or agent‑based systems in production is strongly preferred
- Uses AI coding tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools regularly
- Strong communicator who can earn trust with technical enterprise stakeholders
- Based in or near New York City and able to be onsite with clients when needed
- You want a purely internal engineering role with no customer interaction
- You are mainly a BI or dashboarding specialist without strong understanding of where data comes from or how data moves
- You prefer stable, clearly scoped tickets over ambiguous customer problems
- You are not able to work in or near New York
- You require new visa sponsorship
