Senior Software Engineer

I am representing one of the longest standing and largest Hedge Funds with their search for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale my client's Market Data Platform. This role focuses on developing high-performance pipelines to ingest, store, and distribute large volumes of market data, and involves working closely with technology, trading, and research teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment

• Design and build high-throughput, low-latency systems to ingest, store, and distribute market data across the firm.
• Leverage high-performance time-series databases to process hundreds of millions of daily, real-time pricing records.
• Design and implement a data lake to store historical market data across multiple asset classes and regions.
• Build robust pipelines to process market data sets from multiple vendors.
• Optimize homegrown and vendor platforms by applying core computer science concepts such as concurrency, efficient data structures, memory management, caching, and event-driven programming.
• Maintain data quality through accurate symbology mapping and entitlements.
• Develop monitoring and observability to support platform reliability.

• Strong in modern back-end programming languages such as C#, Java and/or Python.
• Strong with one or more SQL or No
  
  SQL databases.
• Strong understanding of data structures, concurrency, and system design.

• Docker, Kubernetes, and/or AWS.
• KDB+, Snowflake, SQL Server, Apache Iceberg, and/or Single Store.
• Apache Spark and/or Arrow Flight.
• Market data and/or financial systems.

This is a temp to perm opportunity. They start everyone in this group on an indefinite contract with the intention of bringing them on full time if one performs well in the position.
