OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Adobe Consultant who will support our client. The consultant will lead Adobe Experience Manager development for the NYC Design System and its rollout across nyc.gov guided experiences. This role will design scalable AEM components, templates, workflows, integrations, and deployment practices while ensuring stability, performance, and alignment with business requirements.
Duties- Design, develop, and maintain AEM components, templates, workflows, Sling Jobs, and integrations for public-facing websites.
- Support the NYC Design System rollout across nyc.gov guided experiences by translating requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Dispatcher configuration, caching, application performance, and production stability.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, including Cloud Manager operations, automated builds, deployments, and testing.
- Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, and business teams to define requirements, identify risks, and deliver maintainable AEM platform solutions.
- Perform code reviews, mentor junior developers, and guide development teams on AEM best practices, Dev Ops, Cloud, and Agile delivery.
- Integrate AEM with third‑party systems such as CRM, DAM, analytics tools, custom APIs, search engines, CDN platforms, and translation tools.
- Monitor application health and implement observability, diagnostics, and performance improvements across environments.
- Stay current with AEM features, Adobe Experience Cloud services, and related cloud advancements.
- 8+ years of experience in AEM development.
- Strong hands‑on experience with AEM Sites, Assets, Sling Jobs, and workflows.
- Experience providing technical leadership to development teams, including mentoring, conducting code reviews, and promoting industry best practices across Dev Ops, Cloud, and Agile delivery.
- Experience collaborating with business teams to define requirements, identify risks, and define maintainable solutions within the AEM platform.
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting AEM components, integrations, and applications for building websites.
- Expertise in Java, Sling, OSGi, HTL (Sightly), and front‑end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong knowledge of Dispatcher configurations, caching techniques, and performance tuning.
- Experience deploying websites to AEM Cloud Service and on‑premises installations.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven, Jenkins, or other Dev Ops tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience resolving production issues in AEM environments.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and team collaboration tools.
- Experience with Adobe Target.
- Experience integrating Adobe Analytics with AEM.
- Experience with Akamai Content Delivery Network for websites.
- Experience with language translation tools such as Smartling or Trans Perfect.
- Experience with search engines such as Coveo or Solr.
