Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise applications that underpin trading, operations, market data, reporting, and workflow automation.
This is a hands‑on role working closely with traders, analysts, operations teams, and fellow developers to build reliable, scalable applications across both modern and legacy technology stacks.
The successful candidate will primarily work with C#/.NET and Java, supporting business critical applications, market data integrations, and internal workflow tools.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using C#/.NET and Java.
- Support and enhance Excel Add-ins, spreadsheet automation, and business tools built around Excel.
- Develop and maintain REST services supporting trading, operations, and reporting workflows.
- Build and support Windows Services, Win Forms applications, notification services, and background processing tools.
- Develop integrations with internal systems and third‑party APIs, FTP/SFTP services, and market data providers.
- Support market data and settlement platforms including Bloomberg, Morningstar, ICE, ISOs, and other external feeds.
- Maintain Java‑based market data applications where required.
- Partner directly with traders, analysts, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and deliver timely enhancements.
- Produce technical documentation and follow established development, testing, and deployment standards.
- 7-10+ years of enterprise software development experience.
- Strong development experience in C#/.NET and Java.
- Experience building and supporting REST APIs and enterprise applications.
- Strong SQL Server knowledge.
- Experience developing Excel Add-ins, VBA solutions, or spreadsheet-based business applications.
- Experience developing Windows Services, desktop applications, and background processing services.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture, and enterprise development best practices.
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs, market data providers, and external systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control, and modern development practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with business users.
- Commodity or energy trading systems.
- Financial services or capital markets technology.
- Bloomberg API, Morningstar, ICE, ISO market data, or settlement systems.
- Power Shell scripting.
- IntelliJ IDEA, MyBatis, and Java service development.
