Job SummaryThey are seeking experienced consultants to support a major application modernization program involving the migration of a legacy Windows-based platform to a modern AWS cloud environment. The engagement includes application modernization, database migration, and Dev Ops/CI-CD transformation, leveraging modern AWS services, containerization, and infrastructure automation.
This is a hands‑on consulting role where candidates will work closely with client stakeholders and engineering teams to assess the current environment, design modernization solutions, and implement scalable cloud‑native architectures.
Application Modernization Engineer: Focus on migrating legacy C++/Java applications from Windows to Linux using Docker and AWS.
Relevant Skills & Experience- Required
- C++ development on Windows and Linux platforms
- WineHQ cross‑platform porting (Windows to Linux)
- Java application development and refactoring
- Docker containerization and Linux‑based container deployment (ECS/EKS)
- Legacy Windows application replatforming to Linux
- Nice to have
- WineHQ configuration and packaging
- DB2 database familiarity
- Participate in deep dive sessions on current‑state Windows‑based application architecture
- Port C++ application components from Windows to Linux using WineHQ
- Replatform Java application components to Linux‑based containers (ECS/EKS)
- Containerize replatformed application components using Docker
- Validate replatformed application in non‑production environments
