We're seeking someone to join our FICFX team. Technology enables resilient, high-performance trading platforms. Teams operate globally, owning systems end-to-end with strong focus on innovation and engineering excellence
What you’ll do in the role:- Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions.
- Working across SAP ASE, SAP IQ, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL environments.
- Designing and optimizing schemas, queries, and database structures.
- Performing deep performance analysis and root cause troubleshooting.
- Building and maintaining automation using Python, Perl, and Shell.
- Supporting real-time and batch data pipelines, ETL, and replication.
- Enhancing monitoring, data capture, and operational tooling.
- Strong SQL.
- Experience with mission‑critical real‑time systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage tasks and deliverables effectively.
- 7+ years of related experience.
Skills:
- Strong SAP ASE and/or SAP IQ.
- Strong Python, Perl, and Shell scripting.
- Strong Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting skills.
- Experience with database performance tuning.
- Working knowledge of Fixed Income products or trading systems.
- Exposure to AI/ML tools for performance analysis.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $155,000 and $215,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long‑term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
