Anadyr Horizon builds Strategic Warning AI — technology designed to help governments and institutions see crises before they happen and prevent escalation.

You’ll be engineering the backbone of a system used by analysts, operators, and real‑world decision‑makers navigating high‑pressure environments.

We’re assembling a founding engineering team — just three people — to turn prototypes into production systems that shape global outcomes.

• Build and maintain FastAPI services that power agentic simulations and data pipelines.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas, optimize queries, and manage migrations.
• Deploy and monitor workloads on AWS with CI/CD and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
• Set up observability with metrics, logs, traces, error handling, privacy‑safe analytics.
• Collaborate on system design from concept to production.
• Contribute to engineering standards: code review, testing, linting, typed Python, rollback plans.

• Proficient in Python and SQL with strong back‑end fundamentals.
• Experience with Linux and building/consuming APIs.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly (AWS cloud).
• Docker experience for local development and deployment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Familiarity with React and Next.js is a bonus.
• Emphasis on backend depth over front‑end specialization.

• 3–5+ years shipping production web applications with ownership from design to deploy.
• Backend depth in Python:
  FastAPI or Flask, async fundamentals, Pydantic, SQL/PostgreSQL mastery.
• Comfort building and maintaining React+Type Script views.
• Dev Ops proficiency:
  Docker, CI/CD, AWS services.
• Observability and reliability: metrics, logs, traces, SLO/SLA thinking.
• Privacy‑safe product analytics/UX telemetry.
• Security‑mindful habits: least‑privilege IAM, secrets management, auditability.
• Clear written English, remote collaboration in EU time zones.

• Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform/Cloud Formation).
• Observability tools (Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).
• ML serving experience.
• Experience with simulation‑heavy or data‑intensive apps.
• Security & compliance practices.
