The Data Cloud team is building an end‑to‑end analytics and business intelligence system for our customers and will replace their need for data lakes, warehouses and pipelines. We are building systems for ingestion, transformation, lineage, data catalogs and visualization. In addition, we are exploring ML and LLMs to provide automated insight generation and conversational experiences, allowing data consumers to have a virtual data scientist as their analytics copilot.

• Develop high‑quality software with attention to detail using tech stacks such as Python, Apache Trino, Iceberg, and Temporal.
• Build data visualization and query processing products used at large scale.
• Create data platforms, data lakes, and ingestion systems that work at scale.
• Take ownership of one or more products, APIs or platform spaces.
• Grow your engineering skills in challenging areas and solve hard technical problems.
• Influence architecture, technology selections and industry trends across the company.

• 8+ years of experience in software development, preferably in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
• Strong understanding of CS fundamentals, architectures, and design patterns.
• Proven track record in building large‑scale applications, APIs, and developer tools.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical partners.
• Passion for making an impact on customer experience in a product‑focused environment.
• Bonus: contributions to open‑source projects such as Apache Iceberg, Parquet, Spark, Hive, Flink, Delta Lake, Presto, Trino, Avro.

This role is expected to be on‑site at a Rippling office (employees who live within a 40‑mile radius of a Rippling office are required to work in the office at least three days a week). The optimal work location is New York, New York, United States.

Pay range: $189,000 – $315,000 USD per year (US Tier
1).
