We're partnering with a leading quantitative technology firm to hire Kernel Engineers to join a team building and optimising the low-level infrastructure that underpins some of the highest-performance computing environments in the industry.
You’ll work on Linux kernel development, networking, memory management, scheduling, and system performance, collaborating closely with hardware and infrastructure engineers to push latency and throughput to their limits.
Responsibilities- Develop and optimise Linux kernel components
- Improve networking, scheduling, and memory performance
- Profile and eliminate system bottlenecks
- Work closely with hardware and infrastructure teams to maximise performance
- Contribute to the design of highly optimised, performance-critical systems
- Strong understanding of Linux internals and operating system concepts
- Experience with kernel development, drivers, networking, or systems programming
- Excellent knowledge of concurrency, memory management, and CPU architecture
- Demonstrated track record of solving complex low-level engineering problems
We're particularly interested in candidates with an exceptional academic record in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline. Candidates from leading universities with strong foundations in algorithms, operating systems, computer architecture, and systems programming are encouraged to apply.
This is a highly selective engineering environment with an exceptionally high technical bar, offering the opportunity to work alongside some of the strongest systems engineers in the industry.
Relocation support is available for candidates moving to New York City or Chicago.
