Senior Engineer, Embedded Software Testing and Qualification

Overview

Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – Embedded Systems. Design and scale automated test frameworks for embedded systems that bridge hardware and software. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, high-quality product delivery.

• Architect Test Frameworks:
  Design, architecture, and scaling of automated test frameworks from scratch for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments and system integration.
• Develop Automation Code:
  Write robust, production-grade automation scripts and testing suites using Python, or modern C#.
• Lead Hardware/Software Debugging:
  Isolate, diagnose, and root-cause complex low-level hardware defects, race conditions, and timing anomalies using lab equipment.
• Optimize CI/CD Pipelines:
  Build, maintain, and optimize continuous integration pipelines (e.g., Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, Git Lab CI) to orchestrate daily regression testing on hardware.
• Drive Testability:
  Participate in software code reviews and architectural discussions to advocate for testability, test hooks, and design-for-test (DFT) principles.
• Mentor Team Members:
  Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to junior engineers on the team.

• Experience:
  
  4+ years as an SDET or Test Automation Engineer within embedded systems or application testing.
• Programming:
  Proficiency in C#/.NET and familiarity with Python.
• Computer Vision:
  Experience testing and employing CV technologies is desirable.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM discipline.
• Preferred:
  Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) design or custom hardware test fixture development.
• Standards:
  Knowledge of safety-critical development standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 62304, DO-178C).
• Tools:
  Experience with containerization tools like Docker for standardized test environments.

The annual pay scale for this position is between $ and $. Location eligibility applies (office-based, hybrid, or remote) and varies by geographic location. The posted range is a good-faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of posting and may differ by location and experience. The final offer will reflect qualifications and internal pay alignment.
