Position Summary

STV is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join the Digital Advisory team in New York City, NY or Boston, MA. This role offers mentorship, skill development, and exposure to the entire software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using .NET Core, React, and Type Script.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and backend services that support enterprise applications and data platforms.
  • Implement responsive, user‑friendly interfaces and reusable front‑end components.
  • Participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Troubleshoot software defects and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high‑quality solutions.
  • Participate in Agile activities such as sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Engage in code reviews, adhere to coding standards, testing practices, and documentation requirements.
  • Assist with deployment and maintenance of applications in Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Help design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases and relational data structures.
  • Implement secure, reliable, and scalable cloud‑based solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, development tools, and AI‑assisted development techniques.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with .NET Core, including REST API development and data access layers.
  • Experience with React and Type Script, component‑based development, and state management.
  • Experience working with SQL Server, T‑SQL, or relational databases.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, cloud‑hosted applications, storage services, and deployment processes.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and incorporate constructive feedback from code reviews.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical thinking, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable collaborating directly with business stakeholders, clients, and cross‑functional team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Entity Framework or other ORM technologies.
  • Familiarity with Git‑based source control and modern development workflows.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.
  • Experience in Agile or Scrum development environments.
  • Knowledge of unit and integration testing methodologies.
  • Interest in AI‑assisted software development tools, automation technologies, or data‑driven applications.
