Senior Python & SQL Developer

Job Summary

The Senior Python & SQL Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications, APIs, automation solutions, and data integration processes using Python and SQL. The role requires strong expertise in application development, relational databases, REST APIs, ETL processes, database performance optimization, and production support. This position will collaborate with business users, architects, and development teams to deliver reliable enterprise solutions.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications, APIs, and automation solutions using Python.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and other database objects.
• Build and support ETL and data integration processes for enterprise applications and analytics platforms.
• Collaborate with business users, architects, and development teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Monitor application and database performance and implement performance-tuning improvements.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and production support activities.
• Develop integrations with internal and external systems using REST APIs and data services.
• Apply database design, indexing, and query optimization techniques to improve application performance.
• Support source control and CI/CD processes using Git and related development tools.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance as needed.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot application, database, integration, and production issues.

• 8+ years of experience in Python application development and SQL programming.
• 5+ years of experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• 3+ years of experience developing REST APIs, data integration solutions, and automation frameworks.
• Strong expertise in SQL query optimization, database design, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience developing and supporting ETL and data integration processes.
• Experience with Python frameworks and libraries such as Flask, FastAPI, Django, Pandas, or equivalent.
• Experience developing integrations using REST APIs and data services.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized deployments.
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL platforms, or big data technologies.
• Technical leadership or project lead experience.
• Relevant Python, SQL, or cloud certifications.
