Member of Technical Staff, High-Fidelity Simulation New York | On-site $180,000–$300,000 + Equity

Simulation is becoming the foundation of Physical AI.

We’re partnering with a well-funded venture-backed startup building the simulation and validation infrastructure layer for the next generation of robotics and autonomous systems.

Founded by a team with experience from some of the world’s leading autonomy, AI, and advanced engineering organisations, the company is developing a platform that enables robotics teams to design, validate, train, and deploy intelligent systems faster and more safely through high-fidelity simulation.

As an early technical hire, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping both the technology and the future direction of the business.

THIS IS NOT A TRADITIONAL SIMULATION ENGINEER POSITION

We’re looking for a Member of Technical Staff capable of operating as a technical authority in a customer-facing environment, helping shape simulation strategy, digital twin architecture, validation workflows, and sim-to-real deployment for next-generation robotics systems.

You will be expected to contribute far beyond implementation, influencing platform design, customer delivery, technical direction, and long-term product strategy as one of the earliest members of the team.

We’re particularly interested in engineers who have:
  • Built simulation environments rather than simply used them.
  • Owned technical decisions around validation, sensor modelling, digital twins, or sim-to-real workflows.
  • Worked directly with customers, stakeholders, or cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Operated in startup, research, advanced robotics, autonomy, or high-growth environments.
  • Deep hands‑on experience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim strongly preferred.
THE ROLE

You’ll work directly with founders, engineers, and customers to solve complex challenges spanning simulation architecture, robotic systems, perception, synthetic data generation, and Physical AI.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, build, and scale high‑fidelity robotics simulation environments.
  • Develop digital twins and validation frameworks for real‑world robotic systems.
  • Own simulation workflows from concept through deployment and customer delivery.
  • Build simulation infrastructure using NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Omniverse, OpenUSD, and PhysX.
  • Drive sim‑to‑real initiatives through system identification, sensor calibration, validation, and domain randomisation.
  • Partner directly with customers to understand robotic systems and translate requirements into scalable simulation solutions.
  • Influence core platform architecture and foundational technical decisions.
  • Work closely with leadership, founders, and customers to help define the future of simulation for Physical AI.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Staff-level technical capability within robotics simulation, autonomy, or Physical AI.
  • Deep hands‑on experience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Isaac Lab, Omniverse, OpenUSD, digital twins, synthetic data generation, or sim‑to‑real workflows highly desirable.
  • Experience building simulation environments, digital twins, or validation infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Strong Python and/or C++ skills.
  • Experience deploying systems from simulation into real‑world robotic hardware.
  • Hands‑on experience working with sensing systems including cameras, LiDAR, radar, depth sensors, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of robotics, perception, autonomy, reinforcement learning, or AI‑driven robotic systems.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and take ownership of complex technical problems with minimal direction.
  • Comfortable operating in a highly collaborative, customer‑facing environment.
WHY THIS ROLE?
  • Early‑stage environment with significant technical ownership.
  • Opportunity to influence product, architecture, and long‑term company direction.
  • Work directly with customers solving some of the hardest simulation challenges in robotics.
  • Shape the simulation, validation, and digital twin strategy for a category‑defining company.
  • Build technology that has the potential to become foundational infrastructure for the Physical AI ecosystem.
LOCATION

New York City (5 days per week on-site)

COMPENSATION

Competitive base salary, meaningful equity participation, and the opportunity to help shape a category‑defining company from an early stage.
