Backend Java Engineer; No 3rd Parties

I am looking for a high level Backend Java consultant to join the team at one of our top tier financial services client located in Midtown. This is a working with a distributed Java services platform running across infrastructure and AWS for AI driven initiatives. This is more of a backend engineer that will help deploy and redesign microservices for the teams AI initiatives.

This is 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Hourly rate is $100-$110/hr

• Work alongside our senior engineers to design and build the next generation of our Java search platform architecture.
• Design scalable, maintainable microservices with clear ownership boundaries and well-defined APIs.
• Improve deployment, release, and Java backend operational processes to enable teams to develop and ship independently.
• Collaborate across multiple engineering teams to plan and execute incremental platform migrations with minimal disruption.
• Take ownership of technical solutions from design and implementation through production deployment and support.

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing backend systems using Java
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a similar field of study, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience architecting scalable, distributed systems using industry best practices.
• Experience collaborating across multiple engineering teams to deliver complex technical initiatives.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
