Announcing Camber
Our mission to change behavioral health starts with us and how we operate. We don't want to just change behavioral health, we want to change the way startups operate. Here are a few tactical examples:
- Improving accessibility and quality of healthcare is something we live and breathe. Everyone on Camber's team cares deeply about helping clinicians and patients.
- We have to have a sense of humor. Healthcare is so broken, it's depressing if you don't laugh with us.
Camber is looking for a designer who loves data and working on ways to make the massive amount of data that we have more helpful for both our internal and external users. This can mean anything from improving the ways that data gets put into our systems to creating new data visualizations that help clinics better understand how they can improve their billing outcomes.
You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy making sense of messy, complex systems. You'll spend a lot of time learning how people work today, understanding the data behind those workflows, and turning ambiguity into clear, intuitive product experiences. We're looking for someone who can move fluidly between zooming in on the details of a workflow and zooming out to see the larger system we're building.
you’ll do
- Become the expert:
You'll be embedded on a team with internal users and form a deep understanding of their workflows. You'll become an expert in how the work gets done and share that understanding back with the rest of the team and company. - Make complex things simple:
You'll untangle complicated processes, systems, and datasets and turn them into experiences that feel straightforward and intuitive. You'll identify where complexity is necessary, where it can be removed, and where better product design can make it easier to navigate. - Use data to find and solve problems:
You'll dig into quantitative and qualitative data to understand what's happening, identify patterns and opportunities, and inform your design decisions. You'll be comfortable asking questions of the data, knowing when it tells you something useful, and recognizing when you need to go talk to a customer to understand the why behind it. - Create clarity:
Many of the problems we work on don't come neatly defined. You'll help figure out what problem we're actually solving, bring people together around it, and find a path forward. - Lead projects:
You'll take projects from 0 to 1- identifying problems, building alignment, designing solutions, and working with the team to get them shipped. - Design for now and later:
You'll balance the pragmatic solution we need today with the systems we'll need to build over time.
- Experience:
5+ years of product design experience, ideally working on products or domains that are complex logistically and/or quantitatively. - Data fluency:
You're comfortable working with data and using it to understand problems, make decisions, and design better experiences. - Systems thinking:
You're interested in how workflows, data, people, and systems fit together—not just what happens on a single screen. - Customer empathy:
You like getting close to users and understanding how they actually work, including the messy parts. - Curiosity:
You love learning new things. You don't need to know healthcare or billing, but you should be excited to dig in and become an expert. - Mission-driven:
You're motivated by helping clinicians spend less time on manual work and more time providing care.
- Comprehensive Health Coverage:
Medical, dental, and vision plans with nationwide coverage, including 24/7 virtual urgent care. - Mental Health Support:
Weekly therapy…
