Client Overview:
Our client is a large New York-based organization seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer to support technology initiatives within a collaborative, Agile environment.
Salary/Hourly Rate:$45/hr - $55/hr
Position Overview:Our client is seeking a Senior QA Engineer for a contract opportunity to lead quality assurance activities throughout the software development lifecycle. This individual will be responsible for test planning, automation, functional and integration testing, defect management, and ensuring the delivery of reliable, high-quality applications.
Responsibilities of the Senior QA Engineer:- Lead the planning, design, and execution of test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, end-to-end, and UAT support.
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts.
- Test and validate APIs, databases, integrations, and backend processes.
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Support teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to quality improvements throughout the SDLC.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote testing best practices.
- Support release validation, production verification, and hypercare activities.
- Help improve QA processes, tools, and automation practices.
- 5+ years of QA, software testing, or related experience.
- Strong experience with functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Hands-on test automation experience, including developing and maintaining automated scripts and frameworks.
- Experience with API, database, integration, and backend testing.
- Strong test planning, test case development, and defect management experience.
- Experience working throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to independently lead QA and testing activities.
- Experience mentoring or guiding Junior QA Engineers.
- Experience supporting UAT, production validation, releases, and hypercare activities.
- Experience improving QA processes and automation practices.
- Experience working closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Development teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field is preferred.
