Job Description: People Soft Developer

The People Soft Developer will work closely with the Technical Lead to manage and review work products, create design documents for new customizations related to new releases, and coordinate with various teams throughout the project life cycle.

The People Soft Developer will be responsible for reapplying production customizations, designing, and developing new features for NYCAPS People Soft HCM applications, including Core HR, Benefits, Recruiting, Absence Management, and Performance Management modules. The role involves working as a technical developer with a strong understanding of business processes for the People Tools Upgrade Project.

The People Soft Developer will collaborate with end users, Application Development, and Product Owner team members to accomplish the design, coding, testing, and implementation of new applications to meet business needs.

• Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience working with multiple versions of People Soft and People Tools across HCM modules.
• Extensive experience and understanding of People Soft HCM applications (v 9.2 PUM 39+ with Fluid technology) and People Soft Tools (v 8.59+).
• Implementation, design, and customization experience for People Soft Tools Upgrades.
• Experience performing data/code analysis
  , creating and reviewing technical designs, and documenting from the functional design phase through coding, unit testing, and debugging across various People Soft HCM modules.
• Experience customizing COBOL stored procedures.
• Programming experience using App Designer, People Code, Application Package, Application Engine, Workflow, Integration Broker, and SQR.
• Experience creating/modifying data conversion scripts.
• Experience developing complex interfaces into legacy and 3rd party systems.
• Proficiency with SQL and PS/Query for reviewing, troubleshooting, and testing/validating source system data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (e.g., analysis, recreation, and documenting the impact on the overall system).
• Strong knowledge of STAT Tool, Oracle, and SQL Server.
• Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Knowledge and extensive experience with Oracle Fluid technology.
• Extensive experience using Web Services.
• Experience working with enterprise-wide, large-scale implementations.
• Experience with CA Scheduler Tool.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a Technical/Business Discipline is required.
