Level 3 Developer within our team NYS Integrated Eligibility Systems located in New York, NY (hybrid). This position is a 31 month contract. The mission of the Integrated Eligibility System (IES) is to enhance the well-being of New Yorkers by transforming health and human service delivery through coordinated business practices, modernized technology, and strategic partnerships. IES will provide eligibility, enrollment, case management, and payment functionality for Health and Human Service programs currently served by the Welfare Management System, Benefits Issuance Control System and other State systems.

IES will build on the successful opening of the New York State of Health (NYSoH) by leveraging assets created for the health benefit exchange to modernize the eligibility system for health and human service programs.

The New York State Integrated Eligibility System (IES) Program is seeking a skilled and collaborative Java Developer to support the development of modernization of the New York State Integrated Eligibility System (IES). This individual will work on cross-functional teams to develop robust and scalable application that improve the delivery of critical health and human services program such as Medicaid, SNAP, Public Assistance and Child Support.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and deploying robust, scalable, and high-performance Java applications for enterprise-level systems. The individual must thrive in Agile/Scrum environments and can contribute to both front-end and back-end application development and strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. The Java Developer will work under the guidance of senior technical leads and collaborate with architect, testers and business analyst to implements high-quality code that meets project requirements and adheres to state and federal compliance standards.

The work will directly impact the functionality and user experience of a system used by millions of New Yorkers. Specifically, IES will improve and simplify the eligibility determination and delivery of health and human services to NYS residents in areas such as:
