This is a 12-month contract role for a Senior Software Engineer based in New York City, New York, United States.
Responsibilities- Design and develop production software applications and services using Java and Spring
- Write and optimize SQL queries and work with relational data models
- Build and maintain APIs and integrate with service-based architectures
- Implement automated testing, debugging, and production support practices
- Apply software design principles, data structures, and algorithms in solution architecture
- Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Required
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience using Java and Spring
- At least 3 years of experience working with relational databases, including PostgreSQL or Oracle
- Experience writing SQL and designing or working with relational data models
- Experience building and supporting production software applications or services
- Understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
- Experience developing APIs or integrating with service-based architectures
- Familiarity with automated testing, debugging, and production support
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Preferred
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, code review, debugging, and documentation
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience developing Python-based data processing, machine learning, or AI applications
- Experience working with search engines, document retrieval systems, or content-processing pipelines
- Experience designing scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems
- Experience building systems that process large volumes of structured or unstructured documents
- A strong commitment to automated testing, code quality, and operational excellence
