We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team as a Delivery Project Lead. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in COBOL LE and will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe applications. This role requires a deep understanding of mainframe technologies and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meet client needs. 8-12 years in a various roles associated to Software Coding, Maintenance & Support and Technical Documentation.

Responsibilities:

Lead and support multiple client engagements within the Life Insurance and Annuity domain.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, business analysts, and development teams to analyze business requirements and design effective technical solutions.
Participate in project planning, estimation, and solution architecture discussions.
Conduct design reviews and provide recommendations on application architecture, data flow, and system integration.
Ensure adherence to Project Life Cycle Methodology, IT control policies, and corporate architecture standards.
Prepare and maintain high-level and low-level technical design documents and specifications.
Provide technical leadership to development and support teams across onshore and offshore locations.
Drive code quality through code reviews, best practices, and development standards.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and adoption of emerging technologies.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and market developments related to Life Insurance and Annuity products.
Must be able to understand and leverage latest AI capabilities via enterprise tools like Git Hub Copilot, Claude Code and in-house Models to gain operational efficiency and high throughput

Mandatory

Skills:

Strong experience in Life Insurance, Annuity products, and Policy Administration Systems.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in development, maintenance, and support projects involving Mainframe technologies, preferably COBOL, DB2/SQL, C#, and .NET. Framework
Git and Git Hub or any other Git Repository understanding
API Design and Integration
Technical Design Documentation
Coding and Code Reviews
Git Hub Copilot and Claude Code
Application Architecture and Solution Design
Minimum 6+ years of experience working with SQL databases.
Strong understanding of Policy Administration System architecture and design principles.
Experience working directly with clients and managing technical delivery across distributed teams.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of version control tools like Git.
Working knowledge and understanding of AI tools and features like Skills, custom Agents, Custom instructions, MCP, hooks etc. for operational excellence with judicious token utilization

Preferred

Skills:

Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends in the Life Insurance and Annuity sector.
Experience with automation initiatives and modern software development practices.
Professional certifications in Life Insurance, such as LOMA, are highly desirable.

Qualifications:

BS/BA/MBA/MS graduate
Bachelor's Degree in Technology (B.Tech) or
Master's Degree in Computer Applications (MCA).
