We are looking to speak to an exceptional Software Engineer (C#, Python), to partner with a leading global hedge fund that is continuing to invest heavily in its trading technology infrastructure. They are looking to hire a Lead Engineer to head their Trading Systems team based in New York.
The individual will work closely with traders, portfolio managers, and operations staff on a daily basis, acting as a trusted technical partner across all systems-related matters. The role spans the full trade lifecycle and involves a mix of greenfield development, platform enhancement, and ongoing system support depending on business priorities at any given time.

What You Will Be Doing- Owning delivery of trading systems solutions from requirements through to deployment and post-release support
- Working closely with traders, PMs, and operations to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Supporting and developing systems across order management, execution, market data, and position keeping
- Responding to time-sensitive production issues with appropriate urgency and clear communication
- Collaborating with a global development team across multiple offices
- 7+ years of software development experience within financial services
- Strong experience in at least one of C#, Python, or similar languages used in trading environments
- Hands-on exposure to trading systems (OMS, EMS, market data, and/or position and P&L workflows)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, front office-facing environment
- Strong sense of ownership and the confidence to engage directly with senior stakeholders
- Experience with third-party trading platforms
- Exposure to cloud or containerised environments
