Fitness Instructor / Fitness Trainer

Runs the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF) and assists new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing workout programs and instructing proper equipment usage.

• Core Fitness Instructor Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and run the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and following the schedule.
  • Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to properly and safely use the equipment.
  • Promote our Judgement Free Zone® by connecting with members on the club floor, offering assistance and showing support, while upholding club policies.
  • Perform a comprehensive walk of all fitness areas to ensure a great member experience, addressing issues promptly.
  • Create bi‑weekly updates of exercise variety.
  • Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
  • Respond to member questions promptly and elevate to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed.
• Front‑Desk and Administrative Support:
  • Answer phones friendly and assist callers with diverse questions.
  • Check members into the system and handle new‑member sign‑ups.
  • Conduct tours for prospective members.
  • Facilitate updates to member accounts.
• Club Cleanliness and Safety:
  • Clean and sanitize all exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities.
  • Perform comprehensive walk of all club areas, fixing safety/policy issues and addressing cleanliness concerns.
  • Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitized, stocked and clutter‑free according to the routine cleaning schedule.

• Previous Fitness Trainer/Instructor experience preferred.
• Nationally certified training certification required.
• A passion for fitness and health.
• Upbeat and positive attitude.
• Outstanding punctuality and reliability.
• Exceptional customer service skills; can interact positively and professionally with members and coworkers, exceeding expectations.
• Strong listening skills and ability to empathize and problem‑solve.
• Demonstrated diplomacy in all interactions with appropriate behavior and language.
• High School diploma/GED equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Continual standing and walking during shift.
• Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to toxic chemicals during shift.
• Movement in different positions including bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching and twisting to accomplish tasks.
