Professional Experience/ Qualifications
  • Must be NATABOC certified and NYS License (eligible).
  • A minimum of two years experience in a related field is required. Experience as a professional, graduate assistant, intern and/or in similar supporting roles may be considered.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), attention to detail, and a knowledge and commitment to all University, League(s), NCAA, and professional regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with collegiate Football student-athletes.
  • Experience in a college athletics setting and/or previous experience as a certified Athletic Trainer is preferred.
  • Additional certifications that enhance a candidate’s practice (i.e. PES, CSCS, Graston certification, etc.).
Education
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required
  • A Master’s degree is preferred
Certifications

A current valid driver’s license, in accordance with the University’s Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy is required.

Accountabilities

This position will coordinate medical care operations for select assigned varsity sport programs while supporting the comprehensive coverage of all varsity student‑athletes as a member of the Colgate Sports Medicine team.

Responsible for the overall operational functions and strategies of assigned varsity sports. This includes, and as necessitated by sport seasons:

  • Administering prevention, care, rehabilitation, appropriate specialist referral and emergency management (including spine boarding, oxygen use, CPR/AED) of the team’s injuries
  • Daily recording and evaluation of practice, treatment and injury logs to be completed and communicated to appropriate personnel after each practice/training session
  • Daily recording and review of all student‑athlete files regarding recovery progression and symptoms
  • Daily communication between physicians, strength & conditioning personnel, coaching staff, academic advisor, and athletic administrators regarding student‑athlete status.
  • Responsible for completion and submission of all insurance claims
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with insurance companies
  • Responsible for inventory and facility management
