Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Summer Camp Tennis Director to join our camp family, and lead our summer program with enthusiasm and expertise. This dynamic role involves organizing and supervising tennis activities, coaching young athletes, and fostering a fun, inclusive environment that promotes physical activity, skill development, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for sports, excellent leadership skills, and experience working with children to create memorable summer experiences for all participants.

Camp is a 7 week sleep away camp, with 1 week of orientation and prep. Dates would be June 22-August 16.

Room and board included.

Duties
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily tennis activities and clinics tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
  • Lead engaging tennis lessons that emphasize proper technique, sportsmanship, and enjoyment of the game.
  • Manage a team of counselors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high‑quality programming.
  • Provide interested campers with private and semi‑private lessons (for additional pay).
  • Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and personal growth among campers.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities, including proper equipment use and injury prevention measures.
  • Collaborate with other camp staff to integrate tennis into broader camp themes and special events.
  • Maintain equipment inventory, organize court schedules, and ensure the cleanliness and safety of all tennis facilities.
  • Foster relationships with the campers and staff, and participate in camp programming outside of the tennis department.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in sports coaching, teaching physical education, or working with children in recreational settings.
  • Strong background in tennis.
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques to motivate and discipline young athletes effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence and foster teamwork among campers and staff alike.
  • Ability to string racquets is a plus.
