Overview

Wagner College, a Division I Football Championship Subdivision institution and a member of the Northeast Conference, is seeking a Compliance Coordinator‑Graduate Assistant that will contribute to the educational mission of the College by offering direction, instruction, and sustainability in the athletic department. This position will carry extensive responsibilities with regard to administrative functions and monitoring. It will provide comprehensive athletic compliance support to coaches, staff, and student‑athletes, while gaining experience throughout all facets of the compliance office.

This position reports directly to the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate tracking and evaluation of potential transfer student‑athletes for amateurism and initial eligibility purposes
  • Assist the Athletic Academic Advising Office regarding eligibility issues, especially in association with transfer monitoring
  • Assist with general departmental paperwork and processes necessary to facilitate organized operations of the compliance department
  • Assist with monitoring recruiting logs
  • Assist with monitoring playing and practice season logs
  • Prepare and educate staff and student‑athletes on previously approved topics to enhance the knowledge base of all departmental constituents
  • Assist with roster management facilitation
  • Assist the athletic department with general support of compliance related tasks associated with the operations of events
  • Work with various departmental staff members in order to facilitate proper departmental communication of compliance related initiatives
  • It is expected that this position will require 20 hours per week, including some work on nights and weekends
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all NCAA, Northeast Conference and Wagner College rules and regulations
  • Strong communication skills necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Acceptance in a Master’s program at Wagner College
  • Comfort with juggling multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with student‑athletes, colleagues, alumni, coaches, and supporters
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in intercollegiate athletics
  • Previous experience in NCAA Compliance Assistant and ARMS
  • Previous experience in compliance, human resources or business office functions
Compensation
  • Graduate Assistant compensation includes:
    Graduate School Tuition, Housing, Meal Plan and a Monthly Stipend.

This individual must be of high moral character and act in an ethical manner at all times. Confidentiality is a critical factor in the integrity of the compliance program and it is expected that any violation of NCAA rules or regulations will be reported to the Director of Athletics for review. In accordance with NCAA Bylaw 11.2, any athletic department employee who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures.

This may include suspension without pay, or termination if the employee is found to be involved in deliberate and serious violations of NCAA regulations.
