12 hours per week (2 days, 6 hours each) in the Surgical Technology Associate Degree Program.

SUNY Niagara is seeking candidates to teach clinical in a Surgical Services department: 12 hours per week (2 days, 6 hours each) in the Surgical Technology Associate Degree Program.

The remuneration for teaching at least 3 credits in a semester will be: $1,008 per lecture hour / $903 per lab hour.

The clinical assignments will be held twice per week either with a 6 hour lab or a 12 hour lab.

This is an exempt position; the compensation earned would be $5,418 for a 6 hour lab or $10,836 for a 12 hour lab.

Paid orientation to teaching, responsibilities will be provided. Individuals with current clinical proficiency and/or teaching experience are particularly encouraged to apply.

• Provides instruction, supervision and evaluation in accordance with program policies and procedures for successful achievement of student learning outcomes.
• Maintains a record of student clinical time.
• Determines and maintains competency evaluations.
• Participates in program assessment.

Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare and present information. Must be able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
• Recent (within 5 years) surgery experience.

Bachelor’s of Science degree with a major in a health‑related field.
