The OpportunityHelp keep Adelaide’s rail network safe, clean and running smoothly. We are seeking a motivated Civil Labourers to be based at our Seaford depot to support the Network Presentation team in delivering essential inspection, maintenance and minor civil works across the Adelaide Metropolitan Passenger Rail Network (AMPRN).
In this hands‑on role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining corridor presentation, drainage, fencing, and general civil assets to ensure safe and reliable passenger rail services. You’ll work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to the upkeep and safety of a live rail environment while supporting broader maintenance and civil works activities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform civil maintenance and presentation tasks across the rail network
- Assist with planning and preparing resources for scheduled maintenance work
- Carry out minor civil works such as drainage maintenance, fencing repairs, and asphalt patching
- Remove debris, rubbish, and graffiti within the rail corridor
- Operate tools, machinery, and equipment relevant to assigned duties
- Act as a Track Protection Officer when trained
- Ensure compliance with Rail Safety, WH&S, and environmental standards
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive work environment free from discrimination and harassment
- Experience in labouring, civil maintenance or similar hands‑on work environments
- Ability to work safely within a live rail corridor
- Confident operating tools, machinery and equipment relevant to civil works
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- White Card (Construction Induction Safety Certificate)
- Current Driver’s Licence (Class C & MR)
- Ability to obtain Category 1 Safety Critical Rail Worker health assessment
- Experience in civil maintenance or labouring environment
- Ability to work in a hands‑on capacity within a live rail environment
- Competency in operating small plant and equipment
