A top-tier international freight forwarding and customs brokerage company is seeking an experienced Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) Manager to lead and develop its customs brokerage operations in New York. We are looking for a hands‑on leader with strong compliance knowledge, operational expertise, and a passion for delivering outstanding service to customers across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee daily customs brokerage operations and entry processing activities
- Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other government agency requirements
- Supervise, mentor, and develop customs brokerage staff and entry writers
- Monitor import activities, shipment clearances, audits, and compliance procedures
- Maintain and improve SOPs, operational efficiency, and service standards
- Provide guidance on HTS classification, valuation, duty minimisation, and regulatory compliance
- Act as the primary escalation point for customs‑related issues and customer concerns
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, CBP officials, carriers, and internal departments
- Support business development efforts by assisting with customs solutions and client onboarding
- Stay current with changes in customs regulations, trade compliance, and industry developments
- Active U.S. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) licence required
- Minimum 5+ years of customs brokerage experience within freight forwarding or logistics
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, PGA requirements, and import compliance
- Experience with ABI systems and customs brokerage software
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong customer service and client relationship management skills
